Yakın koruma adayı,  5188 Sayılı Kanun'a uygun özel güvenlik sertifikası alabilmek için devletin düzenlediği sınavlardan en az 70 puan almalı, silahlı (120 saat) ya da silahsız (90 saat) yakın koruma eğitimini başarıyla tamamlamalıdır.

Altay güvenlik, Yakın koruma eğitimi; yaya, elektronik ve araçlı koruma hizmetlerinin en iyi şekilde verilmesini sağlamak amacıyla alanında uzman kişiler tarafından verilen eğitimler bütünüdür. Özel Güvenlik Şirketleri Faaliyet İzin Belgesi Geçerlilik Süresi

5188 Sayılı Kanun'un yürürlüğe girdiği 26.06.2004 tarihinden itibaren özel güvenlik şirketleri faaliyet izin belgesi geçerlilik süresi yoktur. Süresizdir. Özel güvenlik görevlileri için bu süre 5 yıl olarak belirlenmiş, 5 yılın sonunda belgesini yenilemeyen kişiler hakkında kimlik faaliyet durdurma kararı alınmıştır. Yönetmelik gereğince özel güvenlik şirketleri ve eğitim kurumlarında yönetici olarak çalışanların bu görevlerinden ayrılmaları durumunda, yeni yönetici görevlendirilinceye kadar faaliyetleri geçici olarak durdurulmaktadır. İki aylık süre sonunda yeni yöneticisi göreve başlamayan şirket ve eğitim kurumlarının faaliyet izin belgeleri İçişleri Bakanlığı tarafından iptal edilmektedir.

Genel kolluk kuvvetlerinden son beş yıl içerisinde emekli olanlar ile bu görevde en az beş yıl fiilen çalıştıktan sonra kendi istekleriyle ayrılmış olanlar, beş yıllık süre dolmadan herhangi bir tarihte özel güvenlik görevlisi yada yöneticisi olmak için başvurmaları halinde, başvurdukları tarihten itibaren geçerli olacak şekilde kendilerine beş yıllık çalışma izni verilmektedir. Genel kolluk kuvvetlerinden emekli olduktan yada kendi isteği ile ayrıldıktan sonra beş yıllık süreyi geçirenler özel güvenlik temel eğitimini almak zorundadırlar.
